APSU Women's GolfMurray, KY – While there was some movement up and down the leaderboard at the Jan Weaver Invitational at Miller Memorial Golf Course over the final round, Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s golf maintained its spot in 12th to close the event.

All five Governors in the lineup finished within a shot of their second-round scores in Saturday’s final round; unfortunately, none of the five improved on their scores, with only Meghann Stamps finishing in the 70s.

Stamps’ 229 (76-76-77) was the best by a Gov for the 54-hole event, placing her 21st in the field. Among her accomplishments were a team-high 34 pars, a team-high six birdies and a 4.13 stroke average on par-4 holes, sixth-best average in the 97-person field.

A senior and a freshman occupied the next two spots in the Austin Peay order, with Reagan Greene posting a 236 (73-81-82) and Taylor Dedmen five shots behind at 241 (79-81-81). Taylor Goodley (81-83-83) and Riley Cooper (85-81-81) rounded out the lineup with matching 247s.

The individuals offered some intriguing matchup opportunities and forced their way into the discussion for the Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Golf Championships in two weeks, beginning with freshman Shelby Darnell, who posted the second-best score of all Governors with a 234 (76-77-81). Ashton Goodley (80-78-80—238) and Andrea Presilla (77-79-84—240) closed out the round for the Govs.

And that’s it—all that’s left now is the 2019 OVC Women’s Golf Championships, slated to begin Monday, April 15th on the Schoolmaster Course at The Shoals on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
