Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The offense continued to struggle for the Nashville Sounds in a 5-0 loss to the San Antonio Missions Monday night at First Tennessee Park. Nashville managed only four hits in the setback.

Nashville went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position and have not collected a hit with a runner in scoring position since Saturday night. The issues started tonight after Eli White doubled to start the bottom of the first inning but was stranded after a pop out and two strikeouts.

San Antonio struck first when they plated three runs in the top of the second.

Nashville starter Richelson Pena quickly recorded the first two outs of the third but San Antonio designated hitter Keston Hiura crushed a long home run to left field to make it a 4-0 game.

Nashville’s offense never threatened to cut into the lead. Willie Calhoun doubled to start the sixth inning but the next three batters were retired in order. Zack Granite had a pair of hits for the Sounds.
