Nashville Sounds get 4-2 win at Oklahoma City Dodgers

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds beat the Oklahoma City Dodgers in the series opener 4-2 as Tim Dillard earned his 40th career win with the Sounds.

Wei-Chieh Huang made his first career appearance in Triple-A and with Nashville this season, working as the “opener”. He pitched the first two innings and sent down all six batters he faced, striking out three of them.

Huang was relieved by Dillard in the third inning and retired the next six batters he faced, making it 12 straight batters to start the game.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison announced, Tuesday, May 7th, that tennis head coach Ross Brown has been given a contract extension. Brown is fresh off an appearance in the NCAA Tournament after Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament championships in women’s tennis.

The women’s tennis team entered the NCAA Tournament with a 22-0 record – the only undefeated program in the nation heading into the weekend.

APSU Softball has record-tying four First-Team All-OVC selections

 

APSU SoftballBrentwood, TN – The Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) announced today that five Austin Peay State University softball team members earned All-Ohio Valley Conference recognition for their outstanding play this season at the OVC Tournament Awards Banquet.

A program-tying four athletes were placed on the All-OVC First-Team.

TWRA announces 2019 Spring Squirrel Season begins May 11th

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife and Resources Agency (TWRA) states that the Tennessee 2019 spring hunting season for gray, fox and red squirrels opens Saturday, May 11th and will continue through Sunday, June 9th.

The daily bag limit is 10, the same for the fall/winter squirrel season, which is held from late August to the end of February.
