Nashville Sounds, Oklahoma City Dodgers game stopped because of rain

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The top of the fourth inning was completed when rain fell at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark forcing the Nashville Sounds game against Oklahoma City Dodgers to be suspended. Oklahoma City was up 4-0 before the game was stopped.

All four runs by the Dodgers were scored in the bottom of the third inning. With runners on first and second, Matt Beaty singled to score Drew Jackson. Kyle Garlick doubled to score Daniel Castro and Beaty. Edwin Rios singled to score Garlick and put the score at 4-0.

APSU Baseball beats Eastern Kentucky, 13-9

 

APSU BaseballCharleston, IL – Austin Peay State University (APSU) baseball Center fielder Garrett Spain homered and had three RBI as the Governors got a win in a wild Ohio Valley Conference series opener, 13-9, against Eastern Illinois, Friday, May 10th at Coaches Stadium.

APSU Softball’s season ends with 4-3 loss to Eastern Kentucky at OVC Tournament

 

APSU SoftballOxford, AL – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team fell Friday in Day three of the Ohio Valley Conference Championship to Eastern Kentucky, 4-3. The Govs put on a late rally, but came up short. The loss also was the end of the season for APSU.

AAA reports Crude Inventories Retreating after Recent Growth

 

AAATampa, FL – AAA says this week’s petroleum status report from the Energy Information Administration revealed that crude stocks fell by 4 million bbl to 466.6 million bbl last week.

While the new level is 32.8 million bbl lower than the level at this time in spring 2018, the step back is a reversal from the previous week that saw crude inventories climb by 10 million bbl.

Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance - TDCINashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance (TDCI) is warning consumers about Genetic Testing Scams aimed at Seniors to collect their personal information.

That is way TDCI is joining other state and national regulators to warn consumers about reports of people claiming to represent genetic testing firms who are visiting senior living communities, assisted living facilities and senior centers to swab seniors’ cheeks purportedly to collect genetic material in order to screen for cancer or other life-threatening diseases.

APSU Softball beats Murray State 3-2 to advance at OVC Tournament

 

APSU SoftballOxford, AL – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team had to wait out weather delays Thursday night to play and defeat Murray State 3-2. With the win, the Govs advance to Day 3 of the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference Championship. The Governors dropped the morning contest to Jacksonville State, 7-2.

The Govs will now play the winner of Friday mornings 9:00am contest between Belmont and Eastern Kentucky at 11:30am.
