New Orleans Baby Cakes shutdown Nashville Sounds, 3-0

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Nashville Sounds pitcher Tim Dillard threw well in tonight’s game versus the New Orleans Baby Cakes, but Baby Cakes’ pitcher Hector Noesi pitched a little better as the Sounds were shutout 3-0. Nashville was able to scratch across just four hits in the contest.

The game was scoreless until the top of the sixth inning when Isan Diaz hit a solo home run just right of the 403-foot sign in center field.

That would be the only mistake Dillard made in the night, finishing with a line of 6.0 innings, six hits, one earned run and five strikeouts. He threw just 75 pitches with 55 of those being strikes.

TWRA reports No Boating Related Fatalities over Memorial Day Weekend

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – There were no boating-related fatalities over the 2019 Memorial Day holiday weekend according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA). This is the fifth consecutive year without a boating fatality over the holiday weekend.

During the period from May 24th-27th, there were five injury incidents and six property damage incidents. TWRA Region IV in East Tennessee, had two of the injury and five property damage incidents.

Clarksville Police are looking for Aggravated Robbery suspect Ramon Gholston

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) requests public help locating Ramon Gholston, age 33, who has an Aggravated Robbery warrant on file.

On Friday, May 31st, 2019, around 8:37pm, Clarksville Police Officers responded to a robbery which had just occurred in the area of 780 Power Street. A 23 year old man had been struck in the head with a handgun and money and a cellphone were taken from him.

Ramon Gholston is wanted by Clarksville Police for a robbery that happened on Power Street.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Board of Trustees will host its spring meetings on the APSU campus on June 6th-7th, 2019.

The Board’s Academic Policies and Programs/Student Life Committee will begin meeting at 1:30pm that Thursday, with the Business and Finance Committee, Executive Committee and Audit Committee meetings consecutively thereafter.

Clarksville Police release update on Vehicle Fatality on Ashland City Road

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Friday, May 31st, 2019, Clarksville Police reponded to a single vehicle fatality crash in the area of 1680 Ashland City Rd (41A Bypass).

Two men in a Chevy Malibu were traveling north on Ashland City Road and for an unknown reason crossed the center turn lane and southbound lane and went off the left side of the paved roadway.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department to take part in Summer Food Service Program

 

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – During the duration of the City’s Summer Youth Program, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program.

APSU Athletics icon Cheryl Holt inducted to OVC Hall of Fame

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsNashville, TN – For nearly 35 years, Cheryl Holt served in the Austin Peay State University (APSU) athletics department in various roles. Holt has been inducted into the Ohio Valley Conference Hall of Fame during ceremonies held in conjunction with the OVC Spring Meetings, Friday.

Inducted into Austin Peay’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012, Holt joined the Governors athletics program in 1982 as a tennis coach but was tapped by then-Director of Athletics Johnny Miller to elevate the volleyball program. She served just two seasons as tennis coach, but her tenure as volleyball coach lasted much longer – an impressive 23 seasons.

NASA picks Commercial Lander Providers for return to the Moon

 

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationWashington, D.C. – Three commercial Moon landing service providers have been picked by NASA to deliver science and technology payloads under Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) as part of the Artemis program.

Each commercial lander will carry NASA-provided payloads that will conduct science investigations and demonstrate advanced technologies on the lunar surface, paving the way for NASA astronauts to land on the lunar surface by 2024.
