CDE Lightband reports Weekend Storms Cause Power Outages across Clarksville

 

Clarksville Department of Electricity - CDE - CDE LightbandClarksville, TN – CDE Lightband reports that because of several storms that have moved through Clarksville this weekend has caused power outages across the city affecting around 13,000 customers.

The first round that came through Friday evening affected approximately 8,000 customers.

Clarksville Police arrest Joshua Johnson for Burglary

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Officers were called to the 500 block of Dover Road on Friday, June 21st, 2019 around 11:00pm. The owner saw someone inside of his business through surveillance footage and called the police.

When CPD officers arrived, they saw a man walking away from the business and detained him. They found property taken from inside of the business in his possession. The man was identified as Joshua Johnson, age 35.

Nashville Sounds fall late to New Orleans Baby Cakes, 8-5

 

Nashville SoundsMetairie, LA – The Nashville Sounds watched their lead vanish in the bottom of the eighth inning when the New Orleans Baby Cakes scored five runs to win  8-5 Sunday afternoon at the Shrine on Airline. The five-game set now is even at two wins apiece.

The Sounds trailed 3-1 after five innings but rallied over the next three frames to take a 5-3 lead. In the sixth, Eli White doubled and scored on a wild pitch, and Tyler Pill nailed a game-tying RBI double off the wall in right to make it 3-3. Then Nolan Fontana blasted a home run leading off the seventh and drew a bases-loaded walk against Brian Moran in the eighth for a 5-3 advantage.

Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for June 27th – 30th, 2019

 

Dunbar Cave State Park - Clarksville TNClarksville, TNDunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.

Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.

The upcoming events include: Whooooo’s ready?, Bird Hike, and Unknown Realms.

American Heart Association reports Energy Drinks may increase risk of Heart Function Abnormalities, Blood Pressure Changes

 

American Heart AssociationDallas, TX – According to a small study published in Journal of the American Heart Association, the Open Access Journal of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, drinking 32 ounces of an energy drink in a short time span may increase blood pressure and the risk of electrical disturbances in the heart. This can affect heart rhythm.

APSU new Football season ticket inquiries for 2019 now being accepted

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – New season ticket inquiries for the 2019 Austin Peay State University football season are now being accepted by the APSU ticketing office .

Six home contests are on the docket for the first time since 2003, including the home opener against North Carolina Central set for Thursday, August 29th – the first Thursday home game since 2013. The 2019 slate features two home games against 2018 FCS Playoff participants: Jacksonville State and Southeast Missouri.

NASA to send Four Tech missions to space aboard SpaceX Falcon Heavy Rocket, Monday

 

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationWashington, D.C. – The first nighttime launch of a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket will happen Monday, June 24th, 2019. NASA Television will cover the launch and prelaunch activities.

The rocket will be carrying four agency technology missions to help improve future spacecraft design and performance.

The launch window for the Falcon Heavy opens at 11:30pm EDT Monday, June 24th, from historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
