Nashville Sounds hold off late New Orleans Baby Cakes rally for 6-5 win

 

Nashville SoundsNew Orleans, LA – The Nashville Sounds smack four home runes to tie their season-high in 6-5 win at New Orleans Baby Cakes 6-5. Eli White led the way for the Sounds’ offense getting three hits, including a home run and added a stolen base.

The Nashville Sounds tied a season-high with four home runs as they beat the New Orleans Baby Cakes 6-5. Eli White led the way for the Sounds’ offense getting three hits, including a home run and added a stolen base.

The first pitch of the game was a home run by Zack Granite, which was his second home run of the season. That put Nashville up 1-0.

Austin Peay State University to hold world premiere of new play by writer John Patrick Shanley

Along with promotional materials about the APSU Department of Theatre and Dance, he brought along a simple flyer announcing the department’s 2019-20 season.

Clarksville Street Department currently offering free pickup of yard debris

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Street Department will be offering free pickup of yard debris and tree limbs following all the severe storms this weekend as a service to City of Clarksville residents.

The temporary service period will begin June 24th, 2019 and continue through July 31st, 2019.

Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts announces David Smith as Interim Director at Building & Codes

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Municipal Properties project manager David Smith has been selected as Interim Director at the Clarksville Building and Codes Department, Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts announced Monday, June 24th, 2019.

In April, Mike Baker, Building and Codes Director since 2012, announced he will retire from the post June 30th after 20 years with the department.

Clarksville Police report 16 Vehicle Burglaries, 10 Stolen Vehicles over the Weekend

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is making the public aware of the series of motor vehicle thefts and vehicle burglaries over the weekend, between June 21st and June 24th, 2019. There were 16 vehicle burglaries reported and 10 stolen motor vehicles. Most occurring during the hours of darkness.

Out of the 16 vehicle burglaries, only one showed signs of forced entry.

Mic Check Monday features Hard Luck Revelers, G.F. Lott, Sons of Mary tonight

 

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – Mic Check Monday concert series will feature two Pop/Rock bands and a reading on June 24th, 2019 at Downtown Commons. Concerts will take place each Monday in June and July.

Opening the event at 6:00pm is Hard Luck Revelers. The group is new together, but their rhythm section is from Fleetwood Mac tribute band Gypsy. You’ll hear classic rock and dance music.

Dodging the Roadkill - A Biker's JourneyClarksville, TN – The motorcycle community is reeling this weekend after the news of a horrific accident that killed seven bikers in Randolph, New Hampshire.  The victims were members of the Jarheads Motorcycle Club which is comprised of former and active duty U.S. Marines.

Witnesses and First Responders said it was one of the most devastating accident scenes they had ever seen.  I’m not going to recount the details of the accident, as you can read all about it here.

When I first read the story, my heart just sank.  My emotions went from anger to sadness in a matter of minutes.  I think we all felt the same way, as we once again were reminded of the dangers of this lifestyle that we love so much.

Clarksville Police Department reminds Clarksville Residents of Fireworks Regulations, Safety Tips

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – With July 4th, Independence Day, coming up next week, the Clarksville Police Department is reminding everyone about local ordinances, state laws, and fireworks safety.

There is an average of four deaths a year annually due to fireworks, over 9,000 injuries, 20,000 fires caused by fireworks, and approximately 45 percent of injuries incurred were to children under 14 years of age.
