City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Taking effect on July 1st, 2019, a new City of Clarksville parking regulation will ban parking too close to mailboxes.

In May, the Clarksville Parking Commission voted to add this language to the City Code, Appendix A — Parking Regulations:

“It is a violation of these regulations to commit any of the following acts: Parking too close or obstructing a mailbox that prohibits delivery shall be a violation.”

The new regulation will be enforced citywide by the Clarksville Police Department (CPD) and the Parking Commission’s enforcement officers, who will write tickets. The fine for obstructing a mailbox is $30.00, payable to the Parking Commission.

The regulation also is designed to help citizens who asked for more control of on-street parking in neighborhoods.
