Nashville Sounds fall to New Orleans Baby Cakes, 7-4

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds allowed five runs to the New Orleans Baby Cakes in the top of the eight inning in 7-4 loss Friday night at First Tennessee Park.

The two teams were even through the first six innings at 2-2. Starter Wes Benjamin went six strong innings and allowed only two runs for Nashville, and New Orleans starter Hector Noesi limited the Sounds to three runs in seven innings.

Sounds’ catcher Jose Trevino snapped the 2-2 tie with a solo home run to the berm in left-center field in the bottom of the sixth inning. Trevino’s second home run of the season gave Nashville a 3-2 lead, but the one-run advantage was brief.

Clarksville Police report Three Car accident on Madison Street

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Friday, July 12th, 2019, around 11:10am, Clarksville Police Officers responded to a three vehicle injury crash at Madison Street and Richview Road.

A red Hyundai Accent traveling east on Madison Street, driven by a 22 year old male was attempting to make a left turn off of Madison Street onto a parking lot, and did not yield to an oncoming Ford Ranger traveling west on Madison Street, driven by a 21 year old male.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has Seven Officers graduate from Jail Field Training Officers program

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate Jessica Asebedo, Henry Bailey, Christie Burgess, Neil Darnell, Michelle Head, Joshua Ramos, and Lauren Trinkle on their completion of the Jail Field Training Officers (FTO) Program.

In recognition of their achievement, Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson held a commencement ceremony on Friday, July 12th, 2019. During the ceremony each deputy was sworn in before family and friends and received a certificate of completion.

Neighborhood works with Clarksville Police to catch a Thief

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – A neighborhood pulled together and worked as a team with Clarksville Police Officers to help catch a man, Shomari Moody, age 18, who was out on bond after being arrested last week, July 3rd, 2019 for vehicle burglary, theft, simple possession, and unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon.

The subdivision off of Fuji Lane, Ridgepole Drive and Sharpie Drive was hit hard with at least 11 vehicle burglaries during the overnight hours between July 10th and 11th, 2019.

Citizens Police Academy Alumni receives donation from Planet 3 Extreme Air Park

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On June 14th, 2019, the Clarksville Police Department (CPD) partnered with Planet 3 Extreme Air Park for “Hop with a Cop” a community outreach as well as a fundraiser for the Citizens Police Academy Alumni.

Planet 3 generously donated 20 percent of each admission ticket sold to the Citizens Police Academy Alumni, a non-profit organization supporting local law enforcement events and activities.

The Clarksville Police Department and Planet 3 Extreme Air Park hosted "Hop with a Cop" fundraiser for the Citizens Police Academy Alumni. The event raised $457.93.

Fort Campbell Career Center prepares transitioning Soldiers, Spouses for Civilian Labor Force

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – The Fort Campbell Career Center and Campus was recently opened to not only prepare transitioning Soldiers for the civilian labor force, but to assist spouses as well.

The agencies housed within Fort Campbell Career Center, 5668 Wickham Avenue, include the Career Skills Program, USO Pathfinders and Employment Readiness, as well as a newly formed agency – Campbell Strong Workforce Partnership.

“With all of the partners we have, between all their specialties, we can pretty much take care of all of the needs to prepare an individual for employment,” said Duane Soumis, transition services manager, Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program and Fort Campbell Career Center director.
