San Antonio, TX – The Nashville Sounds lost a close one Tuesday night to the San Antonio Missions 6-5 at Nelson Wolff Stadium. San Antonio center fielder Trent Grisham hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Missions the win.
Grisham’s blast was off Nashville reliever Miguel Del Pozo and came with one out in the frame. It snapped a 5-5 tie in what was a back-and-forth game all night.
Neither team got length from their starting pitcher as Pedro Payano threw 79 pitches in 2 2/3 innings for the Sounds and Drew Smyly threw 83 pitches in 3 2/3 innings for the Missions. Payano allowed five earned runs and Smyly yielded four.

Yavoriv, Ukraine – On July 23th, 2019, Task Force Carentan, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) bid the 95th Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine farewell during a rotational training closing ceremony.
The ceremony marked the conclusion of the 95th AASLT BDE’s six-week training rotation at the Combat Training Center – Yavoriv.

Clarksville Police Officers and Kona Ice of Greater Clarksville went on the road to six different locations throughout the city on July 10th and July 12th.
Officers were on hand while Kona’s owner Gene May, personally served the delicious Kona Cups to approximately 600 people.

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) has been reporting about the rash of vehicle burglaries and motor vehicles thefts that have been going on in Clarksville since May. CPD wanted make the public aware of some of the behind the scene work going on and some of the information discovered during their investigations.
Clarksville Police have identified at least five separate crews as well as a couple of loners that have been operating and committing many of the crimes.
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department reports that it has turned off water service on section of Lafayette Road near the Garrettsburg Road intersection, on Garrettsburg Road and Evans Road for water main leak repair.
Low water pressure may also affect the vicinity during the work.
Clarksville, TN – On Monday, July 15th, 2019, Clarksville Police responded to a shooting on Providence Boulevard. Officers found a man that had sustained gunshot wounds at the intersection of E Street and Oak Street. He was taken to a Nashville Hospital.
The 22 year old shooting victim was treated and released.
Clarksville Police are still trying to locate the Ford F-150 which fled from the shooting scene.
Tampa, FL – The national gas price average is $2.79, which is an eight-cent increase since the beginning of July. Gas prices have increased amid more expensive crude oil prices, robust demand and decreasing gasoline stocks.
Since last Monday, 18 states have seen their gas price averages increase by at least a nickel. Hurricane Barry, which made landfall in Louisiana this past weekend, seems to have had little impact on the national average.
Clarksville, TN – On July 23rd-27th, 2019, Izzy Melvin, Austin Peay State University featured twirler, will represent the state of Tennessee at the National Collegiate Championships at the University of Notre Dame.
Melvin earned the right by winning Miss College Majorette of Tennessee at the Tennessee State Twirling Championships in April.
