Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Clarksville Police Department capture fugitive Russell McCarley Jr.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – Early Wednesday morning, July 17th, 2019, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Clarksville Police Department apprehended a fugitive from Logan County, Kentucky.

Russell McCarley, Jr., age 36, from Russellville, Kentucky, was wanted for attempted murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, 1st degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence and fourth degree assault (domestic violence).

McCarley was apprehend in area of Hampton Station Road and Webb Road after deputies received a lead on his location from Logan County.

He was taken into custody without incident and was unarmed at the time of his arrest.

“Teamwork between multiple law enforcement agencies lead to the successful capture of McCarley,” said Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson. “I am glad that we were able to apprehend him without incident.”
