Tennessee Bureau of Investigation offers Reward in 2001 Paris Homicide

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationParis, TN – Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) Special Agents along with investigators with the Paris Police Department are seeking information in a Paris cold case homicide.

On June 8th, 2001, the Paris Police Department responded to a home at 322 Rison Street in Paris, where investigators found Etta Etheridge (DOB: April 6th, 1929) inside unresponsive. Her death was ruled a homicide.

APSU Football to have new pregame entertainment spot “Stache Street”

 

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – A new pregame entertainment experience will join the growing entertainment options surrounding the lead up to the Austin Peay State University football (APSU) games in 2019. The athletics department has announced the development of Stache Street to launch prior to the Governors Thursday, August 29th, 2019 contest against North Carolina Central.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office promotes Eric Trout, transfers Mike Oliver

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) announces Corporal Eric Trout has been promoted to K9 Sergeant and Sergeant Mike Oliver has been transferred to Criminal Investigations Sergeant.

Trout started his career with the MCSO in April 2013 as a K9 Deputy in the Uniform Patrols Bureau. He was promoted to K9 Corporal in March 2019. Prior to working at the Sheriff’s Office he served in the U.S. Air Force for five years as a Military Policeman. He also worked for seven years for the Federal Reserve Police as a K9 Officer. Trout brings nearly 18 years of law enforcement experience to his new position.

Curtis Wright Sentenced for Child Rape

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports a Clarksville man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for child rape.

Curtis Eugene Wright, 48, was found guilty by a Montgomery County Jury on five counts of child rape.

The incidents occurred in 2018 and involved a child under the age of 8.

Wright will be required to serve his 60 year sentence at 100%, which means he will not be eligible for release until he is 108 years old. He will also be listed on the sex offender registry.

Instant Peay Play: Former APSU Gov Morgan Rackel ends summer with silver medal at Pan Am Games

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – To say former Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball standout Morgan Rackel has had a heck of a run over the past few months would be an understatement, as she wrapped up her summer by winning a silver medal last week as part of Team Canada at the 2019 Pan America Games in Lima, Peru.

The Calgary, Alberta native was a part of the silver medal winning team that posted an overall record of 5-2 at the games, with their only two losses coming to the top-ranked team in the world, Team USA, by a 6-1 final in the preliminary round and 3-1 in the gold medal game, while defeating Puerto Pico (3-1), Venezuela (8-0), Peru (7-0), Mexico (4-0) and Team USA (3-1).
