Evanston, IL – Austin Peay State University (APSU) volleyball junior Chloe Stitt scored 14 kills to lead the Govs to a four-set (25-23, 25-16, 22-25, 25-22) victory against Big 12 Conference foe Texas Tech, Saturday, in the final day of the NU Under Armour Challenge at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
Junior Brooke Moore added 11 kills, 14 digs and three service aces in the victory and was named to the all-tournament team after posting double-digit kill totals in the tourney’s three matches.
Sophomore Karli Graham recorded nine blocks and six kills – leading a Governors effort that recorded 15 blocks against the Red Raiders.
APSU Notes, Notables
Moore’s Big Weekend
After a relatively quiet opening weekend, Moore broke out during the Govs stay in Illinois. She finished with 42 kills (3.82/set) and a .241 attack percentage. Moore closed the tournament with a 11-kill, 14-dig double-double performance in the Govs win against Texas Tech – her second double-double this season.
Stitt’s Strong Finish
Stitt picked the perfect time for her own breakout performance, posting a career-high 14 kill outing against the Red Raiders. It was her second double-digit performance of the tournament and the second time she posted a .300-attack percentage or better in Evanston.
Another Power Five Foe Downed
With the win against Texas Tech, the Governors downed a Power Five foe for the third consecutive year and fourth time during head coach Taylor Mott‘s tenure. It joins wins against Ole Miss (2018), Missouri (2017), and Tennessee (2014).

Senior Ginny Gerig closed her stay in Illinois with a season-best 25-dig performance. The performance moved her to eight in program history with 1,529 career digs – 19 shy of Jenny Wenning’s 1,548 career digs (1996-99).
Freshman Tegan Seyring had career highs in kills (9) and blocks (3) against the Red Raiders.
Junior Caroline Waite notched a career-high 17 assists in the win while freshman Kelsey Mead chipped in 15 assists.
Next Up For APSU Volleyball
Austin Peay returns home to begin preparation for next weekend’s trip to Columbia, Missouri and the Mizzou Invitational. The four-match, three-day stay will pit the Governors against host Missouri, Northern Iowa, Kansas City and Boise State.
