The eight-kilometer race will be held at the SIU Edwardsville Cross Country course in Edwardsville, Illinois and will begin at 6:15pm.

The last time the Governors ran an eight-kilometer race was in the 2018 OVC Championships at Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

This year, the 2019 OVC Championships will be held in Edwardsville at the SIUE Cross Country Course on November 2nd.

Thomas Porter led the way for the Govs in the Belmont opener and intends to keep dominating in Illinois. Tyler Young will look to finish in the top-30, as he did in Nashville (16:47.85). Senior Hezron Kiptoo, Daniel Davis, and Ryan Martin all intend on securing top-50 finishes for the Govs.

“I was pleased with how we ran at Belmont to open up the season, but I thought last week we had the jitters, said head coach Valerie Brown. “We have seen a ton of confidence in practice and I believe we are heading in the right direction. The training and preparation is there so once we get to the meet , it’s time to execute.”
