On Saturday the Governors will take on Cincinnati for the first time in program history. The Bearcats enter the matchup with a 2-5-1 record, having tied with Xavier in their last match on Sunday.

In the past two seasons, the Governors have tied with Belmont (1-1) and Eastern Kentucky (1-1) in their OVC season opener. The Govs have not lost an OVC opener at home since 2012, when they dropped a match to Murray, 0-1.

The Governors finally found their stride on offense Sunday, when Semaan and Claire Larose each scored their season’s first goal, joining Katie Kenward who scored against Chattanooga.

Anna McPhie and Drawdy also picked up their first points of the season, assisting on the two goals.

On the defensive end the Governors have been anchored by their seniors. The trio of Semaan, Melody Fisher, and Meghan Dees are all a part of Naomi Kolarova‘s backline rotation, one that proved to be quite formidable when they held Evansville to just three shots on goal.

Saturday’s match against Cincinnati will be streamed online for free on Bearcats TV. For news, scores and updates on all of Austin Peay State University’s soccer matches this weekend, follow along on Twitter (@AustinPeaySoccer).
