Ashland City is returning the site to pre-lease conditions and is closing the park with a physical barrier upon release of the park to the Corps of Engineers.

Boating and day use visitors have alternate locations for boat launching, and day use recreation in the immediate vicinity at Riverbluff Park and Cleeces Ferry, 6.5 and 11.1 miles away respectively.

The permanent closure of the Bull Run site requires the Corps of Engineers to supplement the Cheatham Lake Master Plan in order to reclassify the area from a high-density recreation area to a multiple resource management – future/inactive recreation area.
