Clarksville Parks and Recreation to host Family-Friendly Halloween Events

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is offering a variety of spooky and fun events this fall. Family-friendly events are affordably priced and will take place at several Parks and Recreation venues:

Ghost Tours with Clarksville BCycle — 6:00pm-8:00pm Friday, October 11th: Don’t miss this haunted guided tour through the Austin Peay State University (APSU) campus stopping at historical points of interest with dark pasts. The fee is $20.00 per person. APSU students can use their BCycle promo code to receive $5.00 off! See Clarksville.BCycle.com for information.

New! Pumpkin Carving Saturday — Noon-2:00pm Saturday, October 12th: Surprise your friends and the whole neighborhood by carving or painting a jack-o-lantern at Crow Recreation Center that will glow for the Halloween season. The fee is $5.00 per pumpkin. Pre-registration is encouraged.

Floating Pumpkin Patch — 2:00pm-5:30pm Saturday, October 19th: Ditch those dusty pumpkin patches and choose your pumpkin from New Providence Pool. Enjoy pumpkin decorating, face painting, games and more. The fee is $5.00 per person or $8.00 per person with pumpkin (while supplies last). Pre-register to guarantee your pick!

Haunted Swim — 7:00pm-10:30pm Saturday, October 19th: When the daylight leaves the ghouls and goblins will come out for a haunted evening swim at New Providence Pool, with frightful lifeguards, swimming, music and a scary good time! The fee is $5.00 per person or $8.00 with pumpkin included (while supplies last)

Superhero Party — 5:30pm-7:30pm Thursday, October 24th: Children 10 and under and their families are invited to Burt-Cobb Recreation Center to enjoy an evening of fun and games while sporting their favorite superhero costume. The fee is $3.00 per child.

New! Liberty Park Halloween Takeover — 5:00pm-7:00pmpm Friday, October 25th: Participate in Halloween-themed crafts, pumpkin decorating contest, scavenger hunt and making spooky treats. Decorated pumpkins will be displayed and judged at Fright on Franklin on Saturday, October 26th. The fee is $10.00 per person.

Halloween at Fort Defiance — 6:00pm-8:00pm Friday, October 25th: Visitors are invited to gather around the bonfire at Fort Defiance to hear historical tales of haunted places and frightful faces. Hot dogs and hot chocolate will be served. Recommended for ages 8 and up.

Fright on Franklin — 3:00pm-6:00pm Saturday, October 26th: Each year, historic downtown Clarksville transforms into a frightfully fun scene, free for the entire family. Don’t miss themed activities and safe trick-or-treating on Franklin Street. Dress to impress for the popular costume contest to win big. Pre-registration is required for the costume contest. Spots are limited!

Scare-Crow — 5:30pm-8:30pm Thursday, October 31st: Don’t miss Crow Recreation Center’s free indoor trunk-or-treat event featuring games, costume contests, treats and more.
