Clarksville, TN – A first-ever meeting between the Austin Peay State University (APSU) football team and Ole Miss is the first piece of the Govs’ 2021 nonconference schedule, announced Thursday.
“We are thrilled to provide our student-athletes with the opportunity to play a Power Five program from the SEC and we look forward to visiting Vaught-Hemingway Stadium,” Austin Peay State University Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison said. “This allows us to provide a unique and special experience for our student-athletes and our loyal supporters.”
Austin Peay and Ole Miss will take the field at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, September 11th, 2021 – a Week 2 matchup between the teams. It will be the Govs fourth-ever trip to the state of Mississippi, and first since a 2015 trip to Southern Miss.
In recent weeks, APSU has announced its 2020 nonconference schedule, featuring a season-opening trip to Cincinnati, a 2022 contest at Western Kentucky and a home-and-home series with Southern Illinois in 2023-24.
