Austin Peay (5-15, 3-3 OVC) fell into a deep hole in the opening set and trailed 20-6 late in the first. But the Governors stormed back, closing to within five points at 21-16 – a 10-1 run. However, that was close as Austin Peay would get in the opening set, falling 25-20.

But the late comeback sparked the Govs to a win in a back-and-forth second set. A 3-0 run aided by an Austin Peay State University block gave the Govs a 21-19 lead and another 3-0 run pushed that lead to 24-20 with Moore’s kill finishing the set.

Morehead State (14-4, 5-1 OVC) recovered their form after the break, winning the third and fourth sets in wire-to-wire fashion to claim the match. Olivia Lohmeier and Mia Swearingen each had 14 kills to lead the Eagles offense. Swearingen also eight blocks while Lohmeier finished with seven stops to pace MSU’s 14-block outing.

Moore’s 17-kill outing came along with 12 digs for her team-leading ninth double-double. Seyring’s 11-kill outing was her third double-digit kill performance in the Govs last four matches.
