Brentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) cross-country runners Emmaculate Kiplagat and Thomas Porter picked up the Ohio Valley Conferences Cross Country Runner of the Week awards, Monday.
Kiplagat, a graduate student from Iten, Kenya, led the Governors women’s cross-country team at last weekend’s Fast Cats Classic. She finished second among Division I runners at the event with a season-best time of 18:37 over the five-kilometer course.
Porter, a junior from Signal Mountain, Tennessee, led the men’s cross-country at the Fast Cats Classic. His time of 26:50 over the eight-kilometer course was third among Division I runners. It was his best time at the eight-kilometer distance this season.
Austin Peay State University’s cross country teams close out their regular season with a Friday appearance at the Murray State Open. The women compete in a 4 p.m., five-kilometer race followed by the men’s eight-kilometer racer at 4:30pm at the Miller Memorial Golf Course.
