APSU Volleyball’s Brooke Moore named OVC Offensive Player of the Week

APSU Women's VolleyballBrentwood, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) volleyball  junior outside hitter Brooke Moore enjoyed a near-perfect weekend and was rewarded with the Ohio Valley Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week award, Monday.

Moore, of Louisville, Kentucky, finished the week with 29 kills and only three attack errors to post an impressive .542 attack percentage in the Governors’ victories against Tennessee State and Belmont. She also had 23 digs – posting back-to-back double-doubles – and did not commit an error on 42 serve reception attempts.

In the weekend’s opening match against Tennessee State, Moore paced APSU with 18 kills (6.0 kills per set) with only one error on 28 attempts for a .607 attack percentage. She also had 12 digs and a service ace against the Tigers.

The next day Moore recorded 11 kills (3.67 kills per set) and only committed two attack errors against Belmont, finishing with a .450 attack percentage. She again had 11 digs but added three service aces and three assists in the win.

It is Moore’s second career Offensive Player of the Week award. It also is the third time this season an Austin Peay State University student-athlete has earned one of the league’s weekly volleyball honors. Ginny Gerig Busse was the league’s Defensive Player of the Week following the opening weekend and Tegan Seyring was the Newcomer of the Week, October 7th.

APSU Volleyball is on the road this weekend with matches at Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State, Friday and Saturday, respectively. The Govs and Golden Eagles are in a three-team tie for fifth place while the Gamecocks are in a four-team tie for first place.
