Nashville Predators fall to the New York Rangers 2-1

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators dropped their second game in a row today, falling to the New York Rangers 2-1 in an afternoon affair at the Bridgestone Arena.

As the Predators prepare to take a four game road trip, the current state of their game doesn’t offer much encouragement as they hit the road.

New York has now won four of their last five games, leaving the Predators scratching their heads over their lack of offensive production as the leading offensive team in the NHL.

Filip Chytil put the Rangers on the board first at16:05 of the opening period with a magical toe-drag and wrist shot beating Juuse Saros in goal for Nashville and New York took the early lead 1-0.

Then into the second period, Ryan Strome extended the Ranger lead by lifting a shot over Saros, taking a pass from Artemi Panarin and Nashville was down, 2-0.

The Predators finally got on the board when Viktor Arvidsson slammed a shot off of a pass from Filip Forsberg for the power-play goal and the Predators cut the lead in half, 2-1.

But that would be all of the production the Predators could muster on this day.

The final frame would be a scoreless affair as New York would take the road win and leave the Predators winless in their last two games.

Nashville out-shot the Rangers 33-30 on the day as Juuse Saros took another loss in goal.  The Predators will visit the Detroit Red Wings on Monday night, then jet to Colorado, San Jose and Vancouver next week.
