Gateway Chamber Orchestra to perform family concert at APSU George & Sharon Mabry Concert Hall, November 17th

Gateway Chamber OrchestraClarksville, TN – Gateway Chamber Orchestra will host their annual Family Concert, ‘The Nutcracker Suite with Anna Celenza.’ on Sunday, November 17th, at 3:00pm Children’s pre-concert activities begin at 2:00pm.

The whole family will enjoy this special kid-friendly event featuring award-winning children’s author Anna Celenza.

Gateway Chamber Orchestra 2019-20 Season Emotion Abounds

The performance features Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, as well as Duke Ellington’s jazz-influenced reinvention.

The music will be accompanied by a multi-media experience with a special reading by Celenza of her book Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker Suite, featuring amazing illustrations by Don Tate. Join the GCO for children’s pre-concert activities, including an instrument “petting zoo,” starting one hour before the concert.

This season, titled ‘Emotion Abounds,’ presents a slate of powerful and emotional programs featuring favorite composers of the GCO, including Mozart, Schubert, Schoenburg, and, of course, Haydn, who will be celebrated in the annual ‘America’s Haydn Festival’ on April 5th, 2020.

The season also offers a number of special events, including the holiday favorite ‘Winter Baroque’ and the 2nd annual ‘BBQ, Brews & Beethoven’ featuring Copland’s ‘Appalachian Suite,’ local craft beer and delicious BBQ.

Tickets are on sale now for the ‘Nutcracker Suite with Anna Celenza’ on November 17th. Individual ticket prices range from $18.00 to $30.00 with discounts given to students and active duty military or reserve.
