Austin Peay State University (9-18, 7-6 OVC) battled back from a 2-0 deficit with its steady offensive outing posting 15 and 17 kills in the third and fourth sets, respectively. Meanwhile, the host Redhawks offense ran into trouble at the same time, posting just nine kills in each set.

Southeast Missouri (19-8, 11-2 OVC) took control of the tie-breaking fifth set with a pair of blocks right before the changeover, leading 8-5 as the teams switched side. The Redhawks got to match point at 14-9 only to see the Govs fend off three of those opportunities as Moore and outside hitter Jenna Panning each recorded kills. But after a SEMO timeout, they closed the match with a Laney Malloy kill.

Moore’s 18-kill outing also saw her record 17 digs for her 13th double-double of the season. She also became the 23rd Govs player to record 1,000 career digs. Outside hitter Tegan Seyring finished with a career high 17 kills and a .300 attack percentage. Outside hitter Chloe Stitt (14 kills) and Panning (11) also found double-digit kill territory.

Maggie Adams paced Southeast Missouri with a 16-kill performance. The Redhawks were outhit by the Govs, 71-59 in kills, but overcame the deficit with an 11-4 margin in aces and a 16-9 edge in blocks.
