Clarksville Police Officer Jonathan Williams presented with Lifesaver Award

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Friday, November 8th, 2019, Clarksville Police Officer Jonathan Williams was recognized for his actions during an emergency situation and was presented with a Lifesaver Award. The Lifesaver award is given to officers whose direct actions saves or extends the life of another person.

On September 19th, 2019, around 10:00am, Officer Jonathan Williams responded to 911 call at the Marathon Gas Station at 2088 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

A woman was lying on the floor of the business and not breathing. He arrived on scene and immediately began performing CPR.

Emergency personnel arrived and the victim was taken to Tennova Healthcare and later transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The clerk survived the medical emergency and the EMS supervisor on duty stated that the CPR efforts of Officer Williams greatly contributed to the survival of the patient.

The actions of Officer Deering brought great credit upon himself, the Clarksville Police Department, and the City of Clarksville.
