Clarksville Parks and Recreation to hold several Holiday Events for the Family

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is offering a variety of festive and fun events this holiday season.

Family-friendly events are affordably priced and will take place at several Parks and Recreation facilities.

Some of the events include: Veterans Appreciation Day, Community Thanksgiving Feast, Christmas on the Cumberland, Elf Splash, Clarksville Christmas Parade, 19th Century Christmas along with several new events.

Holiday Events

Veterans Appreciation Day
9:00am-noon & 3:30pm-8:00pm, Monday, November 11th: As a way to honor those who have served in our nation’s military, patrons who present a valid US Military ID will receive free admission to New Providence Pool.

Community Thanksgiving Feast
5:30pm-7:30pm, Thursday, November 14th: Enjoy a free, warm and hearty meal served by New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Burt-Cobb Recreation Center.

Community Holiday Bazaar
8:00am to 1:00pm, Saturday, November 16th: Shop our indoor bazaar from local vendors selling new or slightly used items at Burt-Cobb Recreation Center. Admission is free.

Christmas on the Cumberland
5:00pm-10:00pm, Sunday through Thursday and 5:00pm-11:00pm, Fridays and Saturdays November 26th to January 1st, 2020: Experience the captivating display of more than 2 million lights at McGregor Park. Don’t miss the grand opening November 26th and enjoy free family-friendly activities from 6:00pm-8:00pm December 14th & 21st. Admission is free.

 

 

Elf Splash
10:00am-noon. Saturday, December 7th: Join Santa in ornament making, underwater tree decorating and more at New Providence Pool. The fee is $5.00 per person. Register online at www.ClarksvilleParksRec.com.

Clarksville Christmas Parade
5:00pm, Saturday, December 7th: Join us in celebrating 60 years at Clarksville’s night-time lighted parade in Downtown Clarksville. Admission is free.

19th Century Christmas
3:00pm or 5:00pm, Saturday, December 14th: Step back in time at Fort Defiance Civil War Park & Interpretive Center to create period decorations, visit with a 19th century Santa and decorate the tree. Enjoy eggnog, cakes, and caroling. The fee is $3.00 per person. Pre-registration required. Register online at www.ClarksvilleParksRec.com by December 13th.

NEW! Youth Dive-in Movie
6:00pm Saturday, December 14th: Youth, ages 10-17, are invited to enjoy an evening of swimming, pizza, drinks and games while watching “Dr. Strange” rated PG-13 on the big screen at New Providence Pool. The fee is $6.00 per person. Pre-registration required. Register online at www.ClarksvilleParksRec.com by December 11th.

NEW! Christmas Light Run
4:00pm-6:00pm, Saturday, December 14th: Experience the dazzling lights of Christmas on the Cumberland by participating in either the one-mile event ($10.00) or the 5K ($20.00) at McGregor Park. Register online at www.ClarksvilleParksRec.com by December 11th. All proceeds will be used to purchase new light displays!

 

 

NEW! A “Not So Silent Night”
5:30pm-7:30pm, Thursday, December 19th: Youth, ages 6-12, are invited to celebrate the holidays with a fun evening of games and activities at Burt-Cobb Recreation Center. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Mr. and Mr. Claus will be making a special visit. Admission is free.

New Year’s Eve Splash
8:30pm, December 31st to 12:30am, January 1st: Ring in the new year with friends and family. Enjoy swimming, a DJ, water play equipment and refreshments followed by a beach ball drop at midnight. The fee is $5.00 per person. Register online at www.ClarksvilleParksRec.com
