“This year’s music is comprised of favorite selections from past concerts with a little new music thrown in for good measure,” Steinquest, Austin Peay State University professor of music, said.

The concert will begin at 7:30pm on Friday, December 6th, in the Mabry Concert Hall. Admission is two cans of food, which will be donated to Loaves and Fishes, or $5.00. Bring cans to the music office in the Music/Mass Communication Building, Room 139.

The evening will feature Steinquest’s holiday band, made up of Allison Steinquest, vocals; Paul Carrol Binkley, guitar and vocals; Kevin Madill, piano; Larry Crew, bass; Sam Campbell, drums; Steinquest, percussion; and the APSU Percussion Ensemble.

The program will include Christmas standards like “My Favorite Things,” “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “Santa Baby,” “O Come O Come Emmanuel,” “Christmas Don’t Be Late,” “Mr. Grinch,” “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day,” “Tennessee Christmas” and “Silent Night.” However, the tunes are dressed up in unusual and innovative arrangements that give them new life.

As always, the show will have a homey atmosphere with the stage set up like a living room, complete with Christmas decorations.
