Clarksville, TN – Skip the Black Friday shopping and join Dunbar Cave State Park and Port Royal State Historic Park on the day after Thanksgiving for a post-holiday hike with family and friends.
Dunbar Cave State Park has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Park’s hike will begin at 9:00am. Port Royal State Historic Park will start their hike at 10:00am.

The depths of Dunbar Cave was a sacred place for Native Americans. But did you know they also used the land above? Come with us After Thanksgiving and explore above Dunbar Cave and the ways Indigenous Americans have altered and used the Landscape over thousands of years.
This will be a easy-moderate hike of around 2 miles. Dress appropriately for the weather.

Follow their Footsteps
Time: 10:00am – 12:00am
In this season of Thanksgiving, we invite you to connect with something bigger than a holiday. Come with us a we trace the story of Port Royal and follow the footsteps of the Cherokee as they were forcibly marched to land they did not know.
This will be a low-impact walking tour and will last around 1 hour. Dress appropriately for the weather. Meet at the Parking Lot behind the Brick Building.

Programs are free unless noted otherwise. All programs require reservations by the Deadline Listed. Programs with no reservations by the deadline will be canceled.
All programs begin at the Visitor Center unless another site is listed.
Children must be accompanied by an adult (one adult for each three children).
Age limits are definite – please do not sign up a child who is younger or older than the age limits given.
