Clarksville Police arrest Baker Brothers for Vehicle Burglary

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Thursday, December 5th, 2019, around 2:45pm, while Clarksville Police officers were investigating a vehicle burglary in which a woman’s wallet, jean jacket, and pink blanket were taken from an unlocked car, the victim received a notification that her credit card had just been used inside of the mall.

Officers Minetos and Mann immediately went to the store, explained the situation, and with management’s assistance were able to gather a good description and the direction where the suspect headed.

The man later identified as Timothy Baker, age 22 was found outside of the mall and had the victim’s credit card in his possession.

As the investigation unfolded, it was determined Timothy Baker had been dropped off by his brother Richard Baker, age 32 who was driving a gold Chevy Cruze.

Officer Schohn located the vehicle, at which time, Richard Baker exited the vehicle, walked away, and was dropping items, including a small container with a leafy substance.

Inside of the vehicle, there were items linked to the original burglary call along with other property which was determined to have been removed from other unlocked vehicles. Detectives set about the task of contacting the victims, who for the most part, were unaware their vehicles had been entered.

Timothy Baker was charged with: Vehicle Burglary and Identity Theft.

His bond is set at $30,000.

Richard Baker, age 32 was charged with Vehicle Burglary and Simple Possession.

His bond is set at $21,000.

Additional charges are expected.

The Baker brothers are not from Clarksville and were passing through Clarksville to a job in another state.

Detective Honholt is the lead investigator.
