Clarksville Police arrest Rogelio Demoura for Making Threats to Church Group that Helped Him

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police report a 59 year old man, Rogelio Demoura, has been arrested after making repeated threats to a local church and its members. Church members were providing food, clothing and money assistance to Demoura after he was evicted from his residence.

Demoura came to the church on December 4th, 2019 and requested more assistance, at which time, he was made aware that additional funds were not available.

He became irate and made threats to blow everything up or to shoot up the church, but was convinced to leave the property without incident and did not return nor contact the church at that time.

Demoura’s silence ended and, on December 9th-10th, he reached out to specific church members and levied more threats of harm against them and the church. Clarksville Police were contacted as the threats continued, even specifying a certain day for the acts of violence, causing concern for the safety of employees and the congregation.

Also, Demoura was believed to have access to firearms.

A warrant for Harassment was taken out and, through a concerted team effort, police quickly located Demoura and took him in custody on December 10th, around 5:30pm.

He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with Harassment with a $5,000 bond. He was also served with an Order of Protection.
