Tennessee Titans last game against Houston Texans

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – In Week 12 of the 2018 season, the Tennessee Titans traveled to the Houston Texans to take on the Texans in a Monday Night matchup. Tennessee lost the contest by a score of 34-17.

Tennessee got on the board first as QB Marcus Mariota led the Titans on a six-play, 62-yard scoring drive. WR Corey Davis helped move the chains with a 19-yard grab for a first down, but the Titans settled for a 31-yard field goal and an early 3-0 lead. As Houston took the field for their first drive, LB Jayon Brown and OLB Derrick Morgan sacked Texans QB Deshaun Watson on third down to force a three-and-out.

On the second snap of the ensuing possession, Mariota hit TE Jonnu Smith for a 61-yard touchdown reception. The Titans extended the lead, 10-0, but Houston then responded with a scoring drive of their own.

Texans RB Lamar Miller accounted for 49 yards on the ground, as Watson ultimately hit Texans WR Demaryius Thomas for a 12-yard score. Houston got on the board, 10-7.

In the second quarter, Houston put up 17 total points. Watson rushed in a 15-yard score as Houston took the lead, 14-10. On the Texans’ following possession, after stopping the Titans on fourth-and-one deep in Houston territory, Miller ran 97 yards to tack on another rushing score as Houston increased its lead, 21-10. With time expiring in the second quarter, Texans K Ka’imi Fairbairn kicked a 43-yard field goal as Houston made it a 24-10 game heading into halftime.

Houston opened the second half of the contest with a 47-yard field goal to increase the lead, 27-10. Later in the third quarter, the Titans showed signs of life after putting together a quick three-play scoring drive. Mariota connected with Davis for a 48-yard score to inch closer to Houston, 27-17.

However, in the fourth quarter Watson connected with Thomas for another score on a 10-yard touchdown pass. The Titans were unable to construct a come-from-behind victory, falling to the division rivals by a final score of 34-17.
