Austin Peay State University Football graduates five in special ceremony

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Football team had Five seniors, who missed Friday’s Commencement due to an FCS Playoff Quarterfinal game at Montana State, who were honored, Monday, December 16th, 2019 with a special commencement ceremony.

Johnathon Edwards, Erskine Francis, Marquise Griffin, Devin Stuart, and Shaun Whittinghill were all set to receive their degrees from Austin Peay State University at the 2019 Winter Commencement. However, the Governors historic run in the FCS Playoffs led them to miss the Friday morning ceremony.

To honor these five student-athletes, APSU President Alisa White, Provost Rex Gandy, and APSU Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison led a graduation ceremony in the Morgan University Center.

Family members of the graduates, athletics department and university staff, as well as Governor fans attended the ceremony, which conferred degrees upon the five Governors football graduates.
