Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department director Jennifer Letourneau elected to Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association board

State group supports excellence in Parks and Recreation

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department director Jennifer Letourneau has been elected to the Board of Directors of the state’s leading parks and recreation advocacy and support organization.

Letourneau will serve as the 2020 Administrative Branch Chair for the Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association.

“Jennifer is providing leadership locally in our city and is sharing her talents with her colleagues in the state in this new role,” Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts said. “We are blessed to have people of her quality working on behalf of the citizens who call Clarksville home.”

TRPA is a non-profit professional society of approximately 800 individual and agency members organized in 1952. Its mission is to strengthen and unite people committed to the benefits of parks and recreation and to help members achieve healthy, livable communities.

The association works to continue members’ education on methods and programs; advocate for parks and recreation resources; support positive legislation at the federal, state and local levels; and to communicate the value of parks and recreation facilities.

Letourneau joins a 14-member elected board that includes these top officers: President Bob Benson of Nashville; President Elect Christina Clark of Chattanooga; Vice President Vonda Wooten of Oak Ridge; and Treasurer/Secretary Nethraja Rajaratnam of Nashville.
