Senator Marsha Blackburn joins Josh Hawley in Resolution to Allow Dismissal of Impeachment

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – In response to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s unprecedented attempt to prevent an impeachment trial in the U.S. Senate, Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) has joined Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) to introduce a resolution updating Senate rules to allow a motion to dismiss articles of impeachment for lack of prosecution.

They are joined by Senators Rick Scott (R-Fla.), Mike Braun (R-Ind.), Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Steve Daines (R-Mont.), John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), and Joni Ernst (R-Iowa).

FBI to recognize Richview Middle School Students in Clarksville with National Safe Online Surfing Award

 

FBIMemphis, TN – On Tuesday, January 7th, 2020, the FBI Memphis Field Office will recognize students at Richview Middle School in Clarksville, Tennessee, for winning the National FBI Safe Online Surfing (FBI-SOS) award at 7:45am.

Students in Heather Stanley’s computer literacy classes scored a composite score of 89.72 percent to win the November 2019 award in the Sharks category (100+ participants).

For the month of November 2019, a total of 142,915 students at 2,156 schools in 54 states and U.S. territories participated in the FBI-SOS Program.

AAA reports National Gas Price Average stays Steady despite Tensions with Iran

 

AAATampa, FL – AAA says the national gas price average held steady on the week at $2.58, but that could change depending on the movement of crude oil prices due to geopolitical concerns.

Following airstrikes in Baghdad last Friday, which killed Iran’s Major General Qassem Soleimani, crude oil prices increased, causing market speculation about what could happen to gas prices in the near-term.

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball team came into Ohio Valley Conference play last week with the best record among all conference teams in pre-conference games, but after dropping both home games at the Dunn Center to open OVC play they find themselves in a must-win situation as they head into a four-game conference road trip.

The Govs (9-4, 0-2 OVC) currently sit in a tie for 10th place in the conference standings, along with Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee State – after dropping a 79-66 final to Southeast Missouri on Thursday and a 69-61 decision to UT Martin on Saturday.
