APSU Men's BasketballClarksville, TN – Former Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s basketball standout Chris Horton is enjoying a career year in France, earning All-Star honors for the 2020 LNB All-Star Game.

The fourth-year pro moved from Kymi in the Greek Basket League—where he averaged a league-leading 9.1 rebounds, 13.6 points and 1.6 blocks last season—to Cholet in the LNB Pro A.

At Cholet, the Decatur, Georgia, native is putting up 17.6 points and 8.8 rebounds, ranking third in scoring and second in rebounding in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues, and is second in the league in blocked shots as the linchpin to a Cholet team that is currently 11-6 on the season.

Joining Horton on the LNB World All-Stars were former NBA and collegiate standouts Norris Cole (2011 first-round draft pick), Briante Weber (led VCU to two conference titles and played in the NBA with Memphis, Houston and Golden State), Dee Bost (All-SEC at Mississippi State) and Rob Gray (two-time All-AAC, American Athletic Conference’s all-time leading scorer), among others.

Horton’s not the only former Gov making waves in France. In LNB ProB, Drake Reed is averaging 10.8 points and 4.1 rebounds as the starting two-guard for Saint-Quentin. The former Governor forward has expanded his range and leads Saint-Quentin in three-point shooting at 44.4 percent, ranking 10th among qualified league shooters.

Elsewhere across the pond, Averyl Ugba is averaging 9.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game for Khimik in the Ukrainian Superleague, while another big who played one year for the Govs is tearing it up in Portugal. That would be Jabari McGhee, whose 14.9 points and 9.8 rebounds has made him one of the most vital players for Barreirense.

In Japan B3, Assane Diop has helped Aisin AW to a 20-8 record as a top-flight rebounder; he averages 6.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, second on the team and 21st in the league despite playing just 23 minutes per game.

The final Gov to have seen time in 2020 so far has been Chris Porter-Bunton. His 13.1 points ranks third in the Romanian Liga Nationala’s second most potent offense, with Galati going 10-2 in its first 12 games.
