Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) released the following statement after he voted for and the Senate passed, by a bipartisan vote of 89-10, the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement Act (USMCA):
“Today, the United States Senate approved the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement. This is very good news for Tennessee workers, especially autoworkers, in 88 of our 95 counties,” stated Senator Alexander.
“It updates the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) of 1994, which was also good for Tennessee because it meant we would have no tariffs on what we trade back and forth from Mexico and Canada,” Senator Alexander said.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) reports three counties have had their chronic wasting disease (CWD) status changed due to the confirmation of the disease (CWD) in new areas of southwest Tennessee.
Haywood County and Chester County have be reclassified from high risk counties to CWD-positive counties after deer tested positive in the respective counties. Lauderdale County has been added as a high-risk county after a deer tested positive in Tipton County within 10 miles of the Lauderdale County border.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department announces planned Road Closure for Section of Rivermont Drive Road
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department will close a section of Rivermont Drive from 437 Rivermont Drive to 453 Rivermont Drive on Monday, January 20th, 2020 at 8:00am for sewer line maintenance work.
The work is anticipated to be finished and the road reopened by approximately 3:00pm.
