“As a shift commander, Steve Batten showed his commitment on a daily basis,” Fire Chief Freddie Montgomery said. “He has led his shift and fostered positivity and integrity.”

“It was obvious to me that Chief Batten was an emerging leader and had much to offer as second in command of CFR. He has hit the ground running, and has helped me dial in my focus as chief as he oversees the daily operations of CFR. He has my full confidence and the support of the entire staff of Clarksville Fire Rescue,” stated Montgomery.
