Austin Peay State University’s Jordyn Adams receives seventh OVC Freshman of the Week award

APSU Men's BasketballBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) freshman guard Jordyn Adams’ stranglehold on the league’s top weekly freshman honor continued, as he was honored as Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week for the third week in a row and seventh time overall during the 2019-20 season.

Adams was the clear-cut winner after leading the Govs to a pair of wins against SIU Edwardsville and Eastern Illinois last week.

He poured in a game-high 17 points Thursday night against the Cougars, then followed that with 13 points in Saturday’s contest against the Panthers, including 11 in the second half to help the Govs erase a halftime deficit and remain unbeaten in OVC play.

For the week, Adams average 15.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and a steal. His seventh OVC Freshman of the Week honor leaves him two behind Chris Horton for most in Austin Peay history with a month to play.

Adams and the Govs return to action Thursday night in the Gentry Center when they take on Tennessee State. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30pm.
