Austin Peay State University Baseball held scoreless by Samford

 

APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) baseball starting pitcher Harley Gollert struck out a career-high eight batters but the Govs could not solve Samford starter Samuel Strickland and fell 6-0, Friday afternoon, in Day 2 of the SAF Dirt Classic on Joe Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Nashville Predators fall to the Chicago Blackhawks in over-time 2-1

 

Nashville PredatorsChicago, IL – The Nashville Predators fell to the Chicago Blackhawks tonight 2-1 with just 48 seconds remaining in over-time.  Alex Debrincat not only scored the game tying goal, but netted the game winner for the home team.

In a game where Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne was at his best, Chicago was able to catch him in a vulnerable situation for the win.  Rinne stopped 36 shots on net for the night.

Nashville held the lead in this one for most of the night.  Mattia Ekholm ripped a wrist shot past Corey Crawford to give the Predators the early 1-0 lead at 14:56 of the second period.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Executive Director Ed Carter to retire in May

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) executive director Ed Carter has announced that he will retire effective May 31st, 2020. He made the announcement during the February meeting of the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting on Friday.

Director Carter assumed his current role in 2009. He began his career in 1972 and has held positions in the divisions of Law Enforcement, Information and Education, and as TWRA Region II assistant manager. He became TWRA’s first Chief of the Boating Division when the division was formed in 1990.

Representative Mark Green Travels to Munich for 17th Annual Congress-Bundestag Forum

 

U.S. house of RepresentativesWashington, D.C. – This week, Representative Mark Green traveled to Munich alongside other Members of Congress for the German Marshall Fund’s 17th Annual Congress-Bundestag Forum (CBF). Since its inception in 2004, the Congress-Bundestag Forum has developed connections among U.S. and German lawmakers and facilitated discussions on a variety of transatlantic policy issues.

Representative Green said, “My visit to Munich provided the opportunity to have important conversations about the common policy priorities between the United States and Germany, and I appreciated my discussions with members of the German Bundestag as we continue to work together on transatlantic issues affecting both of our countries.”

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department has closed the outer northbound lane of North Riverside Drive from 631 North Riverside Drive to North Spring Street due to a water valve leak.
