As Job Creation Exceeds Expectations Again Under President Donald Trump, Women Workers See Further Gains

 

The White HouseWashington, D.C. – The U.S. labor market continues to build on its impressive gains over the past three years of the Donald Trump Administration. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ monthly Employment Situation release, nonfarm payroll employment increased by 273,000 in February—adding nearly 100,000 more jobs than market expectations.

Additionally, preliminary payroll growth estimates for January and December were revised upward by a total of 85,000 jobs, bringing the monthly average over the past three months to 243,000 new jobs.

Austin Peay State University Men’s Tennis takes on Tennessee Vols in Knoxville

 

APSU Men's TennisClarksville, TN – With the non-conference slate winding down, Austin Peay State University men’s tennis will kick off a three-match road trip when they play a 3:00pm, Sunday, match against Tennessee at the Goodfriend Tennis Center in Knoxville, TN.

After taking seven days off, the Governors will get back in action with the penultimate non-conference match of the season against the Volunteers.

Dr. Joseph & Nancye Britton proudly present Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play “A Streetcar Named Desire” at the Roxy Regional Theatre, opening Friday, March 13th, at 8:00pm. In keeping with the theatre’s pay-what-you-can opening night tradition, all tickets not pre-sold at the regular price will go on sale at 7:30pm that evening for a $5.00 minimum donation.

Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Arrests Fleeing Felon From 2019 Jail Escape

 

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPCookeville, TN – On Thursday, March 5th, 2020, Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Trooper Douglas Foster stopped a vehicle on I-40 in Putnam County for a traffic violation.

As Trooper Foster interviewed the driver and passenger he noticed signs of deception from both. The female passenger gave a name and date of birth that came back not on file, making her true identity suspicious.

Troopers were granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search, troopers found an identification card that belonged to the female passenger.
