On Tuesday, my colleague Senator Menendez and I introduced the Securing America’s Medicine Cabinet, or, SAM-C, Act to encourage an increase in American manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients.
Nashville, TN – As part of the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance’s (TDCI) ongoing tornado relief efforts, Tennessee insurance policyholders affected by the March 3rd, 2020 storms cannot have their policies canceled for non-payment for 60 days per Tennessee Governor Bill Lee’s executive order.
Hopkinsville Community College temporarily changes all courses to online instruction through April 12th
Hopkinsville, KY – Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) will move all courses to online instruction through Sunday April 12th as a precautionary measure during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak.
All HCC campuses will remain open during this period offering business and student support services while practicing social distancing.

Austin Peay State University Board of Trustees to hold Spring Meeting electronically, March 19th-20th
Clarksville, TN – On March 19th-20th, 2020, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Board of Trustees will host its spring meetings. Due to the precautions the University is taking to protect the campus community from the new coronavirus (COVID-19), these meetings will be conducted electronically.
Atlanta, GA – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports a total of 1,629 cases of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the United States. There have been 41 deaths related to the virus in the U.S.
In Tennessee, there are now 26 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
CDC is responding to an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus. The outbreak first started in Wuhan, China, but cases have been identified in a growing number of other locations internationally, including the United States.
Montgomery County, TN – Base on the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) is following recommendations to reduce the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) by closing schools the week of March 16th-20th, 2020.
