And in just 24 hours, the selflessness and patriotism on display all across our great country has been astounding.

The new guidelines released yesterday deliver a nationwide game plan. Each one of us has a role to play in stopping transmission of this virus.

TSSAA Board of Control meets via Teleconference

 

Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA)Nashville, TN – The TSSAA Board of Control met on Tuesday, March 17th, 2020. The meeting is normally held in person, but was conducted via teleconference due to the numerous precautions being taken regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) virus.

The Board discussed the current status of the state basketball tournaments and voted to continue with the current suspension of the state basketball tournaments and explore what options are possible to conduct the tournament at a date in the near future.

Nashville Zoo Temporarily Closes due to COVID-19 outbreak across the Nation

 

Nashville ZooNashville, TN – Nashville Zoo will temporarily close to the public starting tomorrow (Wednesday, March 18th, 2020). While there have been no known cases of COVID-19 (Cornoavirus) at the Zoo, the decision to close was made to further reduce the spread of the virus and protect our guests, staff, volunteers and the community.

“We recognize that the Zoo is a popular destination for those of us who want to get out of the house, experience a respite from our daily lives, and discover the wonders for our natural world,” said Rick Schwartz, President and CEO. “We look forward to opening again soon and welcoming everyone back to their Zoo.”

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports Paris Gun Store Burglary suspects arrested in Clarksville

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Clarksville Police Department and Tennessee Highway Patrol apprehended three adults and two juveniles in connection to a gun store burglary.

The burglary occurred at JMC Firearms in Paris, Tennessee at approximately 4:28am on Monday, March 16th, 2020. The suspect vehicle was pursued by the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office and was picked up by Montgomery County Deputies at the Stewart and Montgomery County line on Dover Road. Deputies effectively deployed spike strips as the vehicle continued east on Dover Road.
