Clarksville Christian School students continue learning using Virtual Classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic

Clarksville Christian SchoolClarksville, TN – Clarksville Christian School (CCS) has completed its first week of virtual online education. Like several other schools in the region and around the country, CCS quickly adapted to a new reality by launching full on into virtual learning amidst the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The CCS hybrid learning program employs virtual platforms that ensure teachers and students from Pre-K through 12th grade are able to stay connected and continue their educational journey.

In addition to their emphasis on the spiritual development of students, since the school was founded in 2007, Clarksville Christian School has also placed great focus upon the integration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) throughout all areas of their curriculum.

Their aim has been to blend timeless principles for living with the most inspiring and advanced approaches to learning. Adopting this progressive outlook on education has allowed its administration and faculty to quickly adapt to recent circumstances and provided them with the ability to support remote learning for their students.

By emphasizing the integration of technology with campus-based learning, CCS President, Dr. Brad Moser, stated that the school has in many ways unknowingly “Already been preparing for a remote learning situation.”

Moser adds that, “When we began working with virtual tools quite some time ago, we were initially thinking in terms of how it might help us deal with snow days or provide support for students who were unable to attend a class. Little did we know that this preparation would become so essential to serving our families during such a monumental time.”

Over the previously scheduled spring break, CCS faculty and staff worked tirelessly to convert lesson plans for the virtual environment. School Principal, Stephanie Travis, acknowledges that the school will continue to fine tune its processes, but praises the resiliency and resourcefulness of CCS teachers and students.

According to Travis, “Adjustments will be ongoing, and we will continue making improvements by the day.”

She further noted that “I’m so proud of the way our parents, students and staff have pulled together and demonstrated what the Centurion family can accomplish when the education and future of our children are the priority. Even though we are socially distanced during this time, the members of our CCS family are never alone.”
