Ivanka Trump Lassos $1.6B for Virus-Slammed Small Companies

 

The White HouseWashington, D.C. – “Ivanka Trump, President Donald Trump’s jobs czar, and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin have rallied American banks to pony up $1.6 billion to help small businesses and Main Street Americans crushed by the Coronavirus (COVID-19),” Paul Bedard reports in the Washington Examiner.

“Initiated at a mid-March meeting with banking leaders at the White House, several this week [pledged] millions of dollars of help to supplement the billions of dollars set aside by the administration and Congress for programs such as the Payroll Protection Plan.”

Tennessee Department of Correction takes COVID-19 Actions After Contract Employee Tests Positive

 

Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC)Tiptonville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Correction reports that five inmates at the Northwest Correctional Complex may have potentially been exposed to a non-state employee who tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19).  The inmates have been quarantined and have not presented with any symptoms at this time.

Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance warns of COVID-19/Economic Impact Payment Scams

 

Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance - TDCINashville, TN – The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will begin distributing Coronavirus (COVID-19) Economic Impact Payments in the next few weeks.

Ahead of the arrival of those payments, the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance (TDCI) Securities Division joins the IRS – Criminal Investigation and the United States Attorney’s Office in the Middle District of Tennessee to warn Tennessee taxpayers to be alert about possible scams relating to these payments as well as other malicious attempts to defraud people relating to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Tennessee Department of Health reports 224 new cases of Coronavirus in Tennessee, April 8th, 2020

 

Tennessee Department of HealthNashville, TN – On Wednesday, April 8th, 2020, the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 4,362 confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Tennessee. That is up 224 cases from Tuesday’s 4,138. There have been seventy nine deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

Seven new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in Montgomery County bringing the total up to seventy two. There has been two deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus.
