“That’s a record anywhere in the world,” he said. The United States has now conducted more tests than France, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, India, Austria, Australia, Sweden, and Canada—combined.

Representative Mark Green Fights for Tennessee’s Small Colleges to Qualify for Coronavirus Loans

 

U.S. House of RepresentativesWashington, D.C. – Today, Monday, April 20th, 2020,  Representative Mark Green led a group of members of Congress in urging the Treasury Department and Small Business Administration that COVID-19 Coronavirus relief programs such as the Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) and Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) follow past Federal precedents, and not exclude Tennessee’s small colleges who are currently disqualified because of student workers.

Representative Green said, “EIDLs, the Mid-Size Business Loan Program, and the PPP are all forms of aid that can help our schools make it through this tough time.”

Loaves and Fishes seeks to raise $20,000 during Big Payback

 

Loaves and FishesClarksville, TN – The COVID-19 Coronavirus has closed the physical doors to the Loaves and Fishes site at 215 Foster Street, but patrons still flock to the parking lot every day for take-away meals.

Like so many of its non-profit counterparts, Loaves and Fishes, the local 501(3)(c) that provides a daily hot meal to those in need, had to cancel its annual in-person Spring fundraiser, and never before has the need been so great.

Montgomery County COVID-19 Drive-Through Testing Event set for April 26th

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Health Department is hosting a COVID-19 Coronavirus drive-through testing event for the community on April 26th, 2020.

Nurses and National Guard medics will collect nasal swabs from those who want to be tested, and test results may be available within 72 hours after the samples arrive at the lab, depending on lab volume.
