The White HouseWashington, D.C. – All Americans were rightly sickened by the brutal death of George Floyd in Minneapolis last week, President Donald Donald Trump says. “My administration is fully committed that, for George and his family, justice will be served. He will not have died in vain.”
 
Four days ago, another African-American man was killed, this time gunned down while standing outside the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Oakland, California.

101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell update Health Protection Measures

 

101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Public Affairs Staff

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell announced updated health protection condition (HPCON) measures at Fort Campbell, today.

Effective June 2nd, 2020 the installation will operate at HPCON level B, a change from the previous HPCON level C. HPCON B measures are less extensive than HPCON C measures, but still impose restrictions to safeguard personnel on the installation from COVID-19 Coronavirus.

“We had some outside sets of eyes take a hard look at this with us in terms of our ability to monitor, our ability to test, our ability to treat, and then probably most importantly our case rate trajectory,” said Maj. Gen. Brian Winski, commanding general, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell. “Those factors were all such that it was appropriate to shift from HPCON C to HPCON B.”

$200 Million Available for Small Businesses Affected by COVID-19 Coronavirus

Tennessee State GovernmentNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, Lt. Governor Randy McNally, House Speaker Cameron Sexton, and the Financial Stimulus Accountability Group announced a new relief program for Tennessee businesses affected by the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.

The Tennessee Business Relief Program will direct approximately $200 million in federal Coronavirus Relief Funds through the Department of Revenue directly to small businesses that qualify.

National Gas Price Average rises close to $2.00 a Gallon

 

AAATampa, FL – The national gas price average is $1.97, just one penny more expensive than last week. Part of the incremental jump can be attributed to increases in gasoline demand, which saw a 7% week-over-week increase.

However, demand is still down nearly 25% compared to last year, according to the Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) latest reports.

Tennessee Department of Health reports 821 new cases of Coronavirus in Tennessee, June 2nd, 2020

 

Tennessee Department of HealthNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 24,375 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee as of Tuesday, June 2nd, 2020. That is an increase of 821 cases from Monday’s 23,554. There have been 381 deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

Three more cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus have been reported in Montgomery County. The total is at 277. There has been three deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus.

Blanchfield Army Community Hospital COVID-19 Triage Advice Line changes hours to demand

 

Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH)Fort Campbell, KY – The Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH) locally operated COVID-19 Triage Advice Line will change its hours of operation to 7:00am to 6:00pm beginning, Sunday, June 7th, 2020.

Previously open until 9:00pm, the new hours come to align with demand for the service used by patients reporting COVID-related symptoms.

“When people first started calling the Military Health System Nurse Advice Line, there was a 400 percent increase in the volume of calls, which resulted in long wait times around the country,” said Col. Patrick T. Birchfield, hospital commander.
