Lamar Alexander: Passing the most important Conservation Legislation for our National Parks in Half a Century

This week, the U.S. Senate passed legislation that will be the biggest help to our national parks, including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, in half a century.

The U.S. Department of Energy awarded $20 million to the new Oak Ridge Institute at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville to expand the university’s partnership with Oak Ridge National Laboratory to train the next generation of American scientists and engineers.

Tennessee Department of Health reports 448 new cases of Coronavirus in Tennessee, June 22nd, 2020

 

Tennessee Department of HealthNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 35,302 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee as of Monday, June 22nd, 2020. That is an increase of 448 cases from Sunday’s 34,854. There have been 510 confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

On additional case of the COVID-19 Coronavirus has been reported in Montgomery County. The total is at 385. There has been five deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus.

Clarksville’s New Providence United Methodist Church receives $10,000 Grant to retrofit parsonage to house Older Adults

 

Golden Cross FoundationClarksville, TN – New Providence United Methodist Church, in Clarksville, Tennessee, received a $10,000 grant from the Golden Cross Foundation, a ministry of the Tennessee Conference of The United Methodist Church.

The grant is being used to help retrofit a parsonage on the church’s property that, when complete, will house low-income older adults.

Thanks in part to a $10,000 grant from the Golden Cross Foundation, Clarksville's New Providence United Methodist Church's parsonage is being retrofitted to house low-income older adults. A ministry of the Tennessee Conference of The United Methodist Church, the Golden Cross Foundation provides funding assistance for new and ongoing ministries and services with older adults in the conference and provides expertise and strategic planning for expanding innovative and effective ministries with older adults.
