Clarksville Police Department closes lobbies to public due to COVID-19

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – After several positive tests for COVID-19 Coronavirus among departmental staff, Clarksville Police have closed public access to lobbies at the department’s headquarters and precincts.

Effective Wednesday, October 7th, 2020, lobbies at Clarksville Police Headquarters at 135 Commerce Street; District 1 Precinct at 211 Cunningham Lane; and District 3 Precinct at 1584 Vista Lane will be closed to the public until at least October 26th.

“The Department will continue to provide full-service law enforcement for the citizens of Clarksville,” Police Chief David Crockarell said. “But we will temporarily close our lobbies as a precaution to help protect the public and our workforce.”

CPD encourages citizens to use these contact options:

  • For emergencies, dial 9-1-1.
  • For general information, dial 931.648.0656 from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday-Friday.
  • To request a copy of a police report, send an email to police.records@cityofclarksville.com

Michael Patterson, department spokesman, said the positive tests did not involve officers who have public contact and occurred among staff in areas not frequented by the public.
