Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representatives Mark Green (R-TN) and Stephen F. Lynch (D-MA) and U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) have introduced the bicameral, bipartisan K2 Veterans Care Act.
This legislation would establish a “presumption of service connection” for the veterans who served at Karshi-Khanabad Air Base (K2) in Uzbekistan and who have since been diagnosed with toxic exposure-related illnesses and diseases, requiring the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide health care and benefits.

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett signed Emergency Order #27 today, Friday, February 26th, 2021, in order to extend the wearing of face masks by all residents in Montgomery County.
This emergency order includes a declaration of public health emergency and has been mandated as a result of county and state health data and discussions with the local health department and emergency services directors, and Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts.
Tennessee Department of Health reports 1,135 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee, February 26th, 2021
Nashville, TN – On Friday, February 26th, 2021, the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 647,629 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus. That is an increase of 1,135 cases from Thursday’s 646,494. There have been 9,138 (+40) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.
F O R T Y O N E new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus have been reported in Montgomery County. The total is 17,310. Seven of the new cases reported today were in the age group of 5-18 year olds. There have been 212 (+3) deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus. There were 316 tests given with 32 positive results for a 10.1 percent positive.
