Tennessee Department of Health reports 313 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee, March 8th, 2021

 

Tennessee Department of HealthNashville, TN – On Monday, March 8th, 2021, the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 654,949 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus. That is an increase of 313 cases from Sunday’s 654,636. There have been 9,286 (+7) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

There have been   F I F T E E N   new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus reported in Montgomery County. The total is 17,578. Three of the new cases reported today were in the age group of 5-18 year olds. There have been 213 deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus. There were 133 tests given with 15 positive results for an 11.3 percent positive.

The White HouseWashington, D.C. – On this day in 1965, state troopers beat and tear-gassed hundreds of peaceful protestors crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. The protestors were seeking justice and to ensure their right to vote would not be denied.

At the head of the march were former Congressman John Lewis and Rev. Hosea Williams. As the troopers advanced with clubs raised, the group knelt in prayer.
